Every Q-Dek mezzanine is unique but are all based on the same simple cost effect design. When designing a mezzanine structure our engineers select the most cost effective steel components suitable to the project whilst maintaining that all loadings comply with British Standards. BS 6339, BS 5950 & BS449.
Support columns are generally made from square hollow sections sitting on base plates that bolt into the existing floor slab. The main universal beams are bolted to the support columns and to keep construction depth to a minimum the secondary joists are attached to the main beam. This provides a solid structural base for the decking to be overlaid on. The most common decking used is 38mm thick tongue & groove particle board but other options are available such as galvanised open steel decking. All our staircases comply with the building regulations & these can vary depending on the use of the structure.
There are a wide range of accessories including pallet loading safety gates, kickboard and feature balustrades
The standard finish to the main steelwork is a black hammer that contrasts with galvanised secondary steel, other colours and finishes available on request. |
